The idea behind the Advocacy Forum originated from the need to bring advocacy closer to the members and to communicate better about the advocacy efforts of Preemio members. Traditionally, the position of the Educational and Social Policy Representative has been quite quiet, with messages primarily heard in RiskiPreemio publications and at KopoKylli coffee gatherings.

The purpose of the forum is to create a platform for Kopo/Sopo, Chairpersons, and other Preemio members actively involved in advocacy issues. It will serve as a space for communicating about advocacy-related matters that occur in our daily lives but are not urgent. The goal is for posts to appear on the forum irregularly, whenever there is an opportunity and something worth communicating in the advocacy sector. Additionally, all posts from Kopo/Sopo to be published in RiskiPreemio and the Preemio Facebook group will also be available on the Advocacy Forum, ensuring that communication about advocacy is as clear and centralized as possible.

Often, the matters dealt with by Kopo/Sopo do not reach the "news threshold" for Preemio members or get lost among event promotions and other more urgent communications on Instagram. Furthermore, the RiskiPreemio section is rather narrow, and the magazine is published infrequently, making it hard to go through all the things that need to be communicated. Thus, we are creating a platform with as low a barrier as possible for open communication, so even those of us with less time can easily access it.
